Responsibilities & Context
Community Development Centre (CODEC) is going to implement the Contingency Partnership to Respond to Emergencies in Chattogram Division, funded by UNICEF Bangladesh; which will assist affected populations in Cumilla, Feni and Noakhali districts., Covering health, nutrition, WASH, child protection, education, and social behavior change.
The project targets over 600,000 individuals, focusing on pregnant women, children, and vulnerable groups. Key activities include medical camps, nutritional support, safe water and sanitation facilities, child protection, and educational continuity, all integrated with capacity development.
Duration – 06 months.
Job Summary:
The Project Manager will oversee the comprehensive implementation of the emergency response project, ensuring that all components—Health, Nutrition, WASH, Education, Child Protection, Social and Behavior Change (SBC), and Capacity Development—are effectively executed. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing the project team, ensuring adherence to donor requirements, and providing regular updates to the donor and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
- Oversee Overall Implementation: Manage the execution of all project components, ensuring timely and effective response to emergency needs.
- Coordinate Activities: Ensure seamless integration and coordination between different project components (Health, Nutrition, WASH, Education, Child Protection, SBC, and Capacity Development).
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Coordinate with government bodies, local authorities, NGOs, and other partners involved in the project, including DPHE, MoHFW, DSS, and UN agencies.
- Facilitate Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to address challenges, share information, and ensure alignment with project goals.
Team Management:
- Lead the Project Team: Supervise and provide guidance to the project staff, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to perform their roles effectively.
- Develop Capacity: Organize training and capacity-building sessions for project staff and volunteers on relevant topics, including emergency health, WASH, SBC, nutrition, and child protection.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to donor requirements, project objectives, and relevant regulations.
- Prepare Reports: Compile and submit detailed reports on project progress, outcomes, and challenges to donors and other stakeholders.
- Document Management: Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, decisions, and changes.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Track Progress: Monitor project performance and impact, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and identifying areas for improvement.
- Address Issues: Identify and address any issues or obstacles impacting project delivery.
Emergency Response Management:
- Handle Emergencies: Oversee the project’s response to emergencies, ensuring effective and timely intervention.
- Adapt Strategies: Modify project strategies as needed to respond to evolving needs and challenges.
PSEA Policy-
S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy. Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Contingent Task Assignments:
The Project Head may assign additional tasks based on the demands of the emergency situation and program requirements.
