ASOW works for the development of Afghan society, especially women and children through providing education services, arranging capacity-building programs, imparting vocational skills training, ensuring food security, and emergency relief assistance in times of natural or man-made calamities. Job Description:
Role Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing ongoing projects, ensuring all requirements, deadlines, and schedules are met. This role involves coordinating with team members, managing deliverables, and preparing reports using modern project management tools. The Project Manager will lead project teams of varying sizes, maintain client relationships, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, the Project Manager will identify new projects and partnerships, prepare proposals, and secure funding opportunities. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination and Execution
- Coordinate with cross-functional team members to ensure alignment with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
- Develop detailed project plans to track progress and manage deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Prepare and present status reports, utilizing project management software to analyze and summarize relevant information.
- Establish effective project communication plans and ensure their proper execution.
- Ensure timely completion of all project milestones and deliverables.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Manage resource allocation effectively to ensure all project tasks are executed efficiently.
Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate change requests, ensuring stakeholders are informed of impacts on schedules and budgets.
- Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
- Identify and develop new opportunities with clients to expand project scope.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, addressing their needs and managing expectations.
- Organize and lead stakeholder meetings to review progress, identify issues, and collaboratively develop solutions.
Project Development and Proposal Management
- Identify new projects and partnership opportunities to support organizational growth.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential partners and funding agencies.
- Prepare proposals for new projects and funding opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
- Conduct research to identify funding opportunities and develop tailored proposals to meet donor needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for successful proposal development.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify potential project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and regulations to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain risk management plans, updating them as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and update risk register on regular basis to ensure proper risk documentation and lessons learned.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
- Facilitate project team meetings, encouraging open communication and effective problem-solving.
- Mentor junior project staff and provide opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Foster a collaborative environment to enhance teamwork and productivity.
Post-Project Evaluation and Improvement
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successful and unsuccessful elements.
- Use insights to refine project management processes and improve future project outcomes.
- Prepare final project reports and share key lessons learned with stakeholders and team members.
- Develop action plans for implementing improvements based on project evaluations.

Education and Experience
Skills and Abilities
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in project management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead project teams of various sizes and ensure project completion.
- Experience with budget management and project cost controls.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Trello, or Asana.
- Ability to create and use graphs and other visual tools to track project progress and performance.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Strong proposal writing skills and ability to develop relationships with funding agencies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
