  • At least 3 years working experiences of progressively managing DRR activities

Responsibilities & Context

Project Name: Bangladesh Flash flood response project

The Project Manager is overall responsibility for the management of Noakhali Flash Flood Early Recovery Project, targeting Noakhali Sadar Upazilla & Subarna Char Upazila under Noakhali District. S/he is responsible to provide overall leadership and management in achieving Project outcomes according to the approved plan by ensuring effective coordination with implementing partner and efficient use of fund and transform the lives of children, family and community. S/he is also accountable for coordination and collaboration with local partners and government departments at sub-district and district level and present the project to government and relevant parties being the team leader of the project. S/he will be responsible for ensuring that the activity follows all MEAL/ PQA, SCM, and financial guidelines, donor compliance and document/ prepare/ submit all project reports to WVB NO/ SO/ or donor.

Key Deliverables:

  • Lead Noakhali Flash Flood Early Recovery Project team in order to achieve the organizational Vision, Mission and Program Objectives;
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective implementation of Project interventions by the implementing partner complying with WVB and donor policies and standards;
  • Ensure effective management of partnership project combining monitoring, follow up and capacity strengthening of implementing partner;
  • Do regular monitoring of program implementation, monitoring data analyzed and follow-up actions are on track;
  • Ensure high standard of stewardship in resource mobilization, allocation, utilization in compliance with WV Financial Policies and procedures;
  • Guide implementing partner to mobilize local community, Disaster Mgt Committee, local child & youth group, club, Faith Leaders, Local Government Authority and strengthen capacity for implementing approved plan;
  • Ensure effective communication that ensures timely flow of information within and between implementing partner NGO, Area Coordination Office, Cluster Office, National Office, Support Office, Government and Non-Government Offices;
  • Establish and strengthen network, collaboration, partnership with government, non-government organizations, CBOs, Churches and Faith Based Organizations.
  • Ensure timely reporting and response communication with District/ Upazila administration, other GO, NGO, AP Team, ACO, Cluster, National Office, Support Office following protocol and through proper channel.
  • Guide implementing partner to conduct successful Program implementation;
  • Foster collective accountability among WVB and implementing partners staff and ensure dual accountability.
  • Ensure timely and proper implementation of plan, project deliverable in line with WV policies and standards.
  • Build community capacity for their sustainability.

This is a position of 06 months duration with possibilities of extension.
