Responsibilities & Context

Job Purpose: Muslim Aid-UK Bangladesh Country Office (MABCO) is implementing a three-year project titled “Making Markets Work for Youths (M4Y)” using a market system development approach to drive systemic change. The primary goal of this project is to achieve inclusive economic empowerment for youth in selected areas through the development of market systems. The Project Officer (M4Y) will support the Project Manager by developing project documentation, work plans, and updates, and performing various administrative duties to advance project objectives. S/he will facilitate interventions and activities under the project, engaging directly with a wide range of actors and stakeholders, including government entities, private sector participants, Business Development Service Providers (BDS), and project beneficiaries. The Project Officer will ensure the timely delivery of project outputs from partners and will be responsible for monitoring and reporting all output, outcome, and impact indicators for the respective market systems. The project will follow a multiphase approach to test and adapt delivery models.

Key responsibilities include:

• Facilitating the identification of potential local market actors.
• Participating in intervention design and collaborating with private sector actors to create sustainable business linkages
• Executing activities that strengthen good linkages between market actors
• Coordinating, planning, and organizing workshops involving stakeholders
• Liaising closely with the private sector (enterprises, associations, specialized organizations), government bodies, (I)NGOs, and other programmes
• Assisting in the development of tools for monitoring and measuring indicators, milestones, and plans in close collaboration with the supervisor and M&E team and being responsible for monitoring and reporting all output, outcome, and impact indicators for respective market systems
• Assisting in researching and disseminating the latest market trends, market system development innovations, and other issues facilitating private sector engagement in the
• Developing MoUs and contracts and extending support for timely deliverables
• Assisting the partners in the delivery of their services to SMEs as per the contracts
• Supporting to ensure integration of cross-cutting themes in all interventions
• Providing continuous feedback and recommendations to the supervisor about the implementation progress based on information/reports, programme experiences, observations, professional networking, and judgment
• Assisting the Project Manager in designing and delivering training to build the capacity of project partners and stakeholders
• Building and maintaining close relationships with key government stakeholders
• Developing periodic reports and sharing them with the supervisor, team members, and stakeholders
• Engaging in regular field visits to assess the progress of activity implementation, providing technical advice, mentorship, and feedback for further improvement
• Ensuring quality of deliverables and overall quality assurance in each step of the process
