Afghan Paramount Welfare and Development Organization (APWDO) is a national non-governmental not-for-profit organization, established in 2008 by Afghans and registered, in 2010, with the Afghanistan Ministry of Economy (MoEc).
The core of our organizational philosophy, at APWDO, is to provide humanitarian support, to the vulnerable communities of Afghanistan, based on the principles of UDHR and the socio-cultural values of our country and to provide innovative, socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable human development solutions through research, dialogue, networking, partnerships, and solutions exchange. APWDO is an indigenous organization that seeks to invest resources, efforts, time and energies in interventions responsive to the local needs, backed by evidence from the ground collected through close consultations with the local communities, and formal and informal institutions.

Job Description:
The Proposal Writer will be responsible for developing high-quality proposals for projects in the humanitarian assistance and development sectors, specifically focusing on education, child protection, livelihood, and shelter. This role involves conducting research, crafting compelling narratives, and ensuring proposals align with donor requirements and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal Development
- Lead the development of concept notes and proposals for projects in education, livelihood, and shelter.
- Collaborate with program teams to gather necessary information and insights.
- Ensure proposals are aligned with donor guidelines and priorities.
- Research and Analysis
- Conduct thorough research on potential funding opportunities.
- Stay updated with trends and developments in the humanitarian assistance and development sectors.
- Analyze donor requirements and adapt proposals accordingly.
- Writing and Editing
- Write clear, persuasive, and compelling proposal narratives.
- Edit and proofread proposals to ensure high-quality submissions.
- Tailor proposals to different donor requirements and contexts.
- Coordination and Collaboration
- Work closely with program, finance, and monitoring and evaluation teams to develop comprehensive proposals.
- Coordinate with external partners or stakeholders as needed for joint proposals.
- Facilitate proposal review and approval processes within the organization.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in proposal writing in the humanitarian and development sectors, with a focus on education, livelihood, and shelter.
- Strong understanding of donor landscapes, including governments, foundations, and international agencies.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Proficiency in English and Pahto/Dari
