JOB PURPOSE
To meet this demand, WFP Cox’s Bazar is striving towards a coherent, sustainable, and responsible digital strategy, which aims to streamline digital services for WFP’s internal programmes (e.g., food assistance, self-reliance, disaster risk resilience, etc.).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the supervision of the Head of Digital Solutions & Innovation, the candidate will:
1. Write program code in order to support the development and implementation of efficient and effective IT solutions supporting WFP business needs.
2. Prepare clear technical systems documentation for developed IT solutions in order to facilitate systems development and maintenance.
3. Perform unit and integrated testing of new, enhanced, or fix code in order to ensure completeness and adherence to technical specifications.
4. Contribute to the installation, configuration, and customization of IT systems, as well as integration and migration of data between systems ensuring compliance with WFP’s IT standards, guidelines and procedures.
5. Contribute to release of IT systems and provide early life support in order to prepare for and enable proper use of the IT solution.

7. Contribute to the design and delivery of trainings on automated business processes to ensure efficient and effective use of IT systems.
8. Collect and collate data, conduct basic analysis including the impact of procedural changes to support the development of accurate reports.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Develop software to implement the architecture of IT solutions and respect the data model behind it following WFP IT Solution Architect’s recommendation.
- Ensure the high technical quality of IT solutions and compliance with WFP standards (security, user interface, automation etc.)
- Support the Product Manager and the IT Solution Architect with backlog grooming.
- Collaborate on designing and maintaining the software libraries stack.
- Collaborate on maintaining the continuous improvement (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) infrastructure. This includes.
- Prepare high-level effort estimations for the development and maintenance of IT solutions.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of trainings to ensure efficient and effective adoption of IT systems
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Completion of Bachelor’s in computer science & Engineering
WORK EXPERIENCE: At least 7 years of working experience in software architecture and development.
LANGUAGE: Fluency in spoken and written English and Bangla is required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
- In-depth knowledge and proficiency with solution architecture, developing high-quality IT solutions, web technologies: .NET development stacks, JavaScript, Database: SQL Server, MySQL, Git versioning system, and Git Flow, Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD), Agile Scrum, and mainstream software design & development methodologies; and
- Understanding of accessibility, security compliance, design principles behind a scalable IT solution, and the differences between delivery platforms, such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, especially in EC2, RDS.
- Good knowledge in React will add advantage.
- Good Knowledge in Azure DevOps will add advantage.
- Good Knowledge in Docker, AWS ECS will add advantage.
