Join Practical Action Consulting’s dynamic team in Bangladesh as an Research Associate, based in Dhaka/Field but will be required to spend around 50% time in the upazila/district level. This exciting role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to positive change for the world. As an organized and inquisitive individual, you will play a crucial role in supporting the research activity for the Practical Action Consulting Bangladesh Limited.
3-5 days/week (Work at Office/Remote).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage field operations to ensure efficient data collection processes.
- Coordinate with team members, including data enumerators, to address challenges and maintain high data quality and integrity standards.
- Conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGD), Key Informant Interviews (KII), and In-Depth Interviews (IDI) with target respondents, adhering to ethical research practices.
- Ensure all qualitative data is collected systematically and aligned with research objectives.
- Perform initial coding and editing of qualitative data to ensure clarity, consistency, and reliability.
- Guide the data enumerators in recording and documenting data accurately using prescribed methods and tools.
- Prepare concise and comprehensive field summary reports highlighting key findings, challenges, and observations during data collection.
- Conduct field testing of data collection instruments to validate their effectiveness and relevance.
- Ensure proper data cleaning and organization, identifying and rectifying discrepancies or inconsistencies.
- Assist in preparing concept note, EoI, and proposal as required by the business development team.
- Maintain communication and networking with different stakeholders: Go-NGO, private and donor, and project stakeholders.
- Assist/prepare communication materials and contribute to organisational profile building.
- Provide support for project/PAC’s administrative works and ensure proper documentation of all records and data.
- Train enumerators on ethical considerations, communication techniques, and use of data collection tools.
- Assist in organizing stakeholder consultation at both district and divisional levels and preparing event report.
- Assist in drafting and finalizing research reports, summarizing findings, and providing actionable recommendations.
- Prepare presentation and have preparedness to present any project or research works in the internal/external audiences.
Deliverables:
- Available summary status based on literature review.
- Completed clean data, edit, analytical table/graphs.
- Prepare detailed research outputs, including reports, presentations, and policy briefs, based on findings.
- Conducted qualitative assessments such as Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In-Depth Interviews (IDIs), Case Stories and MSC (Most Significant Change).
- Assisted in preparing concept note, grant proposals, EOI, ToR, etc to secure funding and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Organized and facilitated stakeholder meetings, workshops, and consultations at local and national levels.
- Maintained communication and networking relationships with government organizations (GO), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Private sector stakeholders and ensure proper documentation.
- Developed communication and profile building materials. Performed monitoring visits and prepared reports.
- Performed administrative works in consultation with relevant departments/teams for project purpose.
- Ensure additional support as requested by the organization.
