Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Security Associate the incumbent will undertake the below tasks;
– Access Control & Screening:
Provide access control by inspection of building passes or other approved identification issued by OCHA.
Perform the pedestrian access control to the UN- OCHA facilities ensuring that all personnel and visitors desiring access are properly identified, screened and directed.
Perform the vehicular access control to the UN-OCHA facilities ensuring that official, staff and visitor vehicles desiring access are properly identified, inspected and directed.
Ensure that no unauthorized personnel gain access to facilities.
Ensure that all persons removing equipment from UN-OCHA premises present the equipment and a valid document in which this action is duly authorized.
– Watching & Patrolling the Area:
Conduct patrolling of the entire Facilities and its inner, and outer perimeter and parking area in front of the compound.
Monitoring surveillance cameras if available.
Provide information and assistance to personnel and all visitors.
Respond to and alert bystanders of events, such as security alerts, criminal acts, civil demonstrations and suspicious activity.
– Reporting, Assistance & Support:
Report instances of non-compliance with security procedures and unsafe or hazardous conditions to the Security Supervisor / Shift Supervisor.
Provide additional guard coverage during special events.
Perform security escort duties for persons if directed by the security focal point, and/or;
Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills and Experience
Education and Experiance:
Secondary education.
Two to four years of experience in the security field with international organizations, preferably with UN Agencies.
Previous experience with: Video Surveillance equipment; Technical protection equipment, VHF Radio and other Telecommunication Equipment.
Fire Safety, First Aid Training obtained.
Language:
Fluency in Arabic; good knowledge of the English language.
