OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
The incumbent shall work under the direct supervision of the Director of UNESCO Dhaka National Office and will assist in the development and implementation of external communications for UNESCO Dhaka including social and digital media, web, public relations, branding and publications.
Develop an overall visibility strategy for UNESCO in Bangladesh including but not limited to coordination of advocacy materials, publications, social media and campaigns, and media relationships;
- Prepare a communication strategy and action plan for the Education Cannot Wait Multi-year Resilience Program Phase II;
02. Develop a suite of office promotional materials, such as brochures, articles, newsletters and reports, and update these as and when required;
03. Manage the production of advocacy and communication materials including publications, videos, Facebook posts, tweets, social media packages, greeting cards, souvenirs, etc. in accordance with UNESCO standards and guidelines;
04. Manage the establishment of the UNESCO Dhaka webspace on unesco.org including progressive content development and active maintenance of additions to the space;
06. Generate and/or edit news content in the text as well as multimedia formats such as press releases, posts, etc - Design and implement campaigns aligned with the priorities of UNESCO’s visibility strategy;
08. Create and manage photograph and video libraries of stock material for UNESCO use;
09. Design templates for communication materials including PPTs, SM tiles, etc;
10. Maintain contacts with media representatives and others to promote the activities of the organization. Develop a press kit for UNESCO Dhaka.
11. Ensure that responses to direct or indirect requests for information about the work of the organization promote a better understanding of its objectives and activities;
12. Promote and track UNESCO Dhaka’s brand and the work of the organization through social media networks (including future networks that may emerge on digital platforms), and provide more information as and when required;
13. Build the skills of UNESCO staff in public engagement and visibility; and
14. Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the post as requested by supervisor and Director of UNESCO Dhaka

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelors/Masters degree in mass communication, journalism, public relations or a related field/equivalent.
Work Experience:
At least 5 years of working experience in communication, visibility, and public engagement. Previous experience in international development bodies would be considered as an asset.
Languages:
Excellent skills in English and Bangla.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of another UN official language would be considered as an asset.
