Responding to the most severe humanitarian crises in the world, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) assists those ravaged by conflict and disaster in regaining their health, safety, education, economic well-being, and power. One of the biggest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations (INGO) in the world, the IRC was established in 1933 at Albert Einstein’s request. It works in over 40 countries and 29 American cities, assisting people in surviving, taking back control of their future, and fortifying their communities. IRC workers are a force for humanity, giving millions of people their safety, dignity, and hope again, leaving a lasting impression. Join us in improving the lives of millions of people worldwide for a better future if you’re a solutions-focused, fervent change-maker.Despite many ceasefire agreements and pronouncements from the two warring parties, fighting between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), which began on April 15, 2023, is still going on. For over five months running, there have been clashes between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF), particularly in and around Khartoum and in the Darfur region.
Humanitarian needs are rising everyday as more people are displaced as a result of the ongoing war between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) throughout the nation. Since the war began on April 15, almost 4 million people have been displaced both domestically and abroad.Internally, around 11 million people have been displaced. In all eighteen states, people have been displaced.
The IRC boosted up its response and modified our programs when the crisis started in 2023 to meet the heightened humanitarian demands. The IRC continues to offer assistance in the states of Blue Nile, Gedaref, Khartoum, River Nile, and White Nile in spite of tremendous operational difficulties. Additionally, we are looking into ways to increase our presence in additional states and have a logistics and coordination office in Port Sudan.
