Job Description:

  1. Close coordination and communication with client and Contractor.
  2. Full time supervision of construction site to monitor quality of work in terms of design, specifications, and material as per BoQ; Provide necessary technical assistance to contractor’s engineers.
  3. Arrange meeting with Contractor & the client, and prepare comprehensive report to the client.
  4. Regular (Daily) supervision of construction sites to monitor construction work
  5. Monitor the Quality of work in terms of conformance with the design drawings, specifications, and materials as per contract and Bills of Quantities
  6. Keep all Work Plans (Programs of Work) updated as a tool to monitor Progress of construction work. Identify any potential delays in advance; provide necessary feedback for preparation of crash/remedy Programme
  7. Identify problems and constraints and take necessary actions upon discussion with the contractor
  8. Hold meetings with the site engineers appointed by the contractor or with the Contractor to discuss the progress, address critical issues and undertake corrective measures accordingly.
  9. In consultation with contractor, and approval from the client make sure addition and deletion in BOQ is documented and the client informed. This requires specifically the calculation of quantities in variations.
  10. Attend regular meetings with client and Contractor to ensure the progress is according to the plan.
  11. The engineer should report on progress on weekly/monthly basis.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications or specialized knowledge/experience required for the assignment:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering from a well-recognized university.
  • Five years’ experience in building construction and project supervision, preferably in civil work, vertical structures and RCC designs.
  • Familiarity with procurement and tendering procedures will be an asset.
  • Fluent Dari, Pashto and English.
  • Good Computer skills in Ms Office, Ms Project, and Auto Cad
  • Very good Report writing skills in English & local languages.
