Social Media Strategy and Management
- Manage and maintain IRC-Afghanistan’s social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Plan and schedule regular posts, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding.
- Implement a social media strategy aligned with IRC-Afghanistan’s goals and objectives.
- Monitor social media trends and adjust strategies as necessary to increase engagement and reach.
Content Creation and Curation
- Create, curate, and manage high-quality, engaging content for social media platforms, including text, images, videos, and graphics.
- Collaborate with the field and program staff to gather stories, photos, and updates from the field.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure timely content delivery.
Community Engagement and Moderation
- Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster positive community interactions.
- Monitor and report on social media activity, including engagement metrics, follower growth, and sentiment analysis.
- Address any negative feedback or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the supervisor as needed.
Analytics and Reporting
- Track and analyses social media metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and overall social media presence.
- Prepare regular reports on social media performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay informed about new social media tools, trends, and best practices, sharing relevant insights with the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- At least 2 – 3 years of professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or communications, preferably within the humanitarian or non-profit sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to take on new challenges and learn.
- Proven experience managing social media platforms, including content creation, community management, and analytics.
- Knowledge of social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Buffer) and the ability to interpret data to inform strategies.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative social media strategies.
- Understanding of cultural and contextual sensitivities in Afghanistan and experience working in cross-cultural environments.
Fluency in Dari, and working knowledge in English and Pashto Required:
Computer skills (including Adobe programs (such as Premier and Photoshop), MS Office, and social media analytical tools) are an advantage requirement:
