Job Description:

The surveyors will be fully responsible to collect relevant data for the project from the HHs, beneficiaries. And the markets. The surveyors will be also responsible to undertake the HH level sampling and will. Conduct the interview with the sampled beneficiaries.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Conduct household surveys to gather critical information on vulnerable households using established survey methodologies and tools.
  • Establish respectful relations with interviewees, to encourage them for appropriate answers.
  • Identify households at higher risk, particularly focusing on IDPs, returnees, women-headed households, families affected by natural disasters, and vulnerable host communities.
  • Utilize Kobo application to accurately record and manage survey data in real-time.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of collected data and report any discrepancies or issues to the project manager promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with other surveyors and project staff to achieve project objectives.
  • Submit regular progress reports and updates to the project manager as required.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with community members, ensuring their participation and cooperation in the assessment process.

Job Requirements:

Education:  Ability to read and write would be an advantage.

Experience: At least one year of experience in conducting surveys and assessments in the field.

Technical skills:

  • Familiarity with using the Kobo application for data collection and management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with community members effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles and a high level of integrity.
  • Willingness to work in challenging and remote field locations.
  • Fluency in the local languages and dialects of the region will be an advantage.

Other skills:

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
