Job Description:
Afghan Peace Builders Humanitarian Organization (APBHO) is a renowned national NGO dedicated to empowering communities through resilience-building and food security initiatives across Afghanistan. With a strong portfolio of impactful projects implemented in collaboration with international partners like WFP, APBHO aims to address the most pressing challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
Under the Resilience Building and Food Systems (RFS) projects funded by WFP, APBHO is implementing key activities such as watershed management, vegetable cultivation, pistachio nursery establishment, and irrigation rehabilitation in Sar-e-Pul Province. To support this initiative, we are hiring a qualified and experienced Surveyor/Trainer (Agriculture) to engage with the community and ensure the successful execution of agricultural activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Survey and Assessment: Conduct field surveys to identify suitable locations for trench excavation, irrigation rehabilitation, vegetable cultivation, and nursery establishment.
- Training Delivery: Design and deliver training programs for community beneficiaries on sustainable agricultural practices, including vegetable cultivation, pistachio nursery management, and irrigation techniques.
- Community Engagement: Work closely with local leaders and community members to raise awareness about project activities, ensuring their active participation and ownership.
- Data Collection: Collect, and document data related to agricultural practices, beneficiary participation, and the impact of training activities.
- Support to Field Implementation: Assist in overseeing agricultural activities in the field – CfW to ensure compliance with technical guidelines and project objectives.
- Material Distribution: Coordinate the distribution of agricultural inputs such as seeds, tools, and non-food items and cash for work to beneficiaries, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
- Progress Reporting: Regularly report on the progress of surveys, training sessions, and community activities to the Technical Supervisor and Project Manager.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field (Diploma in Agriculture with significant experience will be considered).
- At least 3 years of professional experience in agricultural surveys, community-based training, and agricultural extension services.
- Proven expertise in sustainable agricultural practices, vegetable cultivation, and irrigation techniques.
- Strong skills in survey methodologies, data collection tools, and analysis.
- Experience working with rural communities, particularly in Sar-e-Pul province or similar provinces.
- Proficiency in Dari and Pashto; basic knowledge of English is an advantage.

- Strong organizational and time management skills to coordinate multiple activities.
