As part of the Migrant Protection, Return and Reintegration (MPRR) program in Côte d’Ivoire, funded by the European Union, the IOM Côte d’Ivoire Office is recruiting a Reintegration Assistant .
Under the general supervision of the Project Manager and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Assistant (Reintegration), the post holder will be responsible for providing administrative and operational support in activities related to the reintegration of returning migrants.
He/she will play a key role in providing administrative and operational support for reintegration activities for returning migrants in Côte d’Ivoire, supporting the preparation and management of files, support and monitoring of returnees, data collection, and the organization of workshops.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ATTRIBUTIONS
The incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Help with welcoming and making contact with Ivorian returnees after their arrival in Ivory Coast;
- Assist the Senior Project Assistant (Reintegration) in guiding and advising returnees on the most appropriate reintegration option, taking into account their profile, abilities, experience and return environment;
- Provide support in the process of identifying and seeking sustainable reintegration opportunities for returning migrants;
- Assist the Senior Project Assistant (Reintegration) in monitoring the reintegration journey of returning migrants and help prepare relevant reports and recommendations;
- Update beneficiary databases (tracking statuses, key dates, payments, etc.) and prepare concise status reports;
- Contribute to compliance and proper physical and digital management of archives;
- Organize appointments for beneficiaries with Reintegration Assistants;
- Support the team in monitoring by email and telephone for payment receipts as well as with service providers to better assist returnees in the reintegration process;
- Assist, as needed, the Voluntary Return and Reintegration Assistance unit based in Abidjan;
- Carry out any other tasks that may be assigned to him.
Qualifications
Education
- Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Labor Law, International Affairs or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with 1 year of relevant professional experience, or;
- High school diploma/certificate with 3 years of experience.
Experience
- Knowledge of migration and support for people in vulnerable situations;
- Good command of the Microsoft pack, use of integrated management systems

- Satisfactory writing skills;
- Sense of confidentiality and professional ethics.
The official languages of the IOM are French, English and Spanish.
- For this position, fluency in French and working knowledge of English are required (oral and written).
- Fluency in Malinké and/or Baoulé would be an asset.
