Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.
Job Summary

In this regard, we have launched a program under the HELP Project Youth Component, aimed at hiring and developing young graduates. This initiative equips them with the necessary skills to succeed in future positions across various departments, while enhancing their employability in the local job market.
The program focuses on building a talent pool that is well-rounded, strengthening both technical abilities and essential behavioral/life skills. Additionally, it provides young individuals with the chance to refine their skills, share their experiences, and contribute meaningfully in a professional context.
Key objectives of the program include:
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in delivering lessons to children at the orphanage, covering subjects like math, science, language, and social studies.
- Support the creation of a positive and engaging learning environment for the children.
- Help prepare teaching materials and lesson plans under the guidance of senior staff.
- Observe and assist in monitoring student progress and participation.
- Participate in organizing and supervising extracurricular activities for the children.
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the lead teacher or supervisor.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: No experience required; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Skills and Competencies:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a willingness to work with children.
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel) for preparing materials and record-keeping.
- Good communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto.
