Job Summary
To Provide technical assistance for GIHSs to review and integrate immunization short courses at midwifery, nursing, and allied health curriculum. Through this approach the initial training of EPI can be integrated into the already available pre-service trainings.
- Integrate the EPI course into the mid-wifery and nursing curriculum of Ghazanfer Institute of Health Sciences
- Ensure the faculty members of GIHS are trained on the new EPI course curriculum.
– Under the direct supervision of the VPI Program Manger overall guidance of the WHO Representative.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities of this role are included, but not limited, to the following:
- Coordinate and liaise with relevant stakeholders
- Review existing curriculum for midwifery and nursing to optimize integration of EPI course materials
- Develop EPI course and ensure suitability for seamless integration into the existing midwifery/nursing curriculum.
- Support the GIHS faculty as technical resource person for all EPI related matters
- Plan and facilitate a workshop to train pertinent GIHS faculty on the introduced EPI course curriculum
- Develop EPI course materials and make them available for printing/distribution.
- Engage with human resources directorates of MoPH and Nursing and Mid-wifery Council regarding the work permit for graduates from GIHS in the field of vaccination.
- Participate in National EPI and GIHS coordination meetings as related to this TOR
- Prepare and submit monthly update and activities report.
Job Requirements
Educations:
Essential: First level university degree is required in medicine and/or public health.
Desirable: Master of Public Health is preferred. Additional trainings in EPI will be an asset
Experience:
Essential: At least 3 years working experience in the field of EPI
- Knowledge of WHO mandate and goals or experience in UN Organizations, international institutions or NGOs is considered an asset.
Desirable: Working experience with WHO/ UN or international nongovernmental organization with expertise in training in EPI
Languages: Excellent knowledge of English and the local languages (Pashto and Dari).
IT Skills:
– Good knowledge of Microsoft applications.
– Knowledge of ERP/Oracle applications is an asset
