Setting and Reporting Organizations
This role will be situated in Juba and is housed in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan’s (UNMISS) Integrated Mission Training Centre (IMTC). The Chief Training Officer/Chief of the IMTC is the person to whom the Training Assistant reports.
Responsibilities
The Training Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: Training Design and Delivery • Contributes to developing, delivering and evaluating training and development programmes for the mission staff. These programs encompass a range of activities, including inter alia, technical and substantive training, safety and security, induction training, leadership and management, communication skills, and planning. • Supports the implementation of training needs assessment to identify gaps as the basis for designing specific training programs to meet unique mission operational requirements and staff development needs. • Drafts training designs and delivers IT-related training programs. This includes subject matter related to data analytics, AI, and data management. • Provides administrative and logistical support to the planning and delivery of various training. • Advises staff members on the availability of learning activities and procedures at mission level. Reporting and Data Analysis • Prepares mandatory training-related reports and statistics • Conducts data analysis of training performance across the mission, covering all staff categories, and implements mechanisms to monitor better and track the training activities. • Designs and develops reporting templates based on new or ad hoc information requirements. • Assists in developing SharePoint-based training databases, trackers, data repositories, collaboration sites, etc. • Serves as a focal point for coordination, monitoring, and expedition of data analysis activity, involving extensive liaison with diverse parts of the organization to request data and to communicate data needs to other parts of the organization related to mandatory training, among others. • Draft correspondence and communications related to all aspects of data analysis, including information on available data sets, data catalogs and data analysis, revisions, and other related issues, as well as preparing unit contributions for various periodic reports. • Documents requirements, background information, and methodology used for data analysis • Participates in the sharing of best practices and monitoring of training programs, including through data collection and information management, using the learning management system (LMS) and/or HRIS, communities of practice, and relevant websites. • Reviews and processes enrollment of staff in training and learning initiatives through learning management systems and/or automated applications • Collects, collates and maintains statistical data on training activities particularly through automated systems and applications. Application Support • Serves as the focal point for coordination and deployment of new training-related information systems/applications/platforms involving extensive liaison with technical support teams from diverse parts of the organization • Prepares user documentation for deployed computer application systems training materials and conducts periodic training and coaching to end users of training systems • Assists in mapping out internal business workflows to maximize available information systems’ benefits.

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Job – Specific Qualification
IT related certification, AI and data analytics and management background is desirable. Technical training in design and delivery of training to adults and the design and provision of adult learning opportunities is desirable.
Work Experience
At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training courses is required. Experience working with large and complex data, preparing and presenting complex training data analytics and reports, and communicating complex training data analytics and reports is required Hand-on experience with dashboard design is required Experience in delivering adults training is required. Experience providing training or related activity to or in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable.
Languages
French and English are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
Assessment
