To qualify as a child advocate, you must meet the following requirements:

The final fee will follow the principle of “best value,” i.e., achieving the desired result with the lowest possible fees. Consultants will be asked to stipulate an all-inclusive fee, including travel and per diem expenses, as applicable.
LATE DELIVERY CLAUSE: If the Consultant experiences a delay in delivering the stipulated products, due to causes beyond UNICEF’s control, he/she will be penalized with 3% of the total cost of the contract per calendar week of delay, with a maximum of 24% of the total contract cost.
PAYMENT TERMS: (a) Unless otherwise specified in the contract, UNICEF will make payment within 30 days of receipt of the consultant’s invoice, which is issued only upon UNICEF’s acceptance of the work specified in the contract. (b) Payment against the aforementioned invoice will reflect any discount shown in the payment terms provided that payment is made within the period shown in the payment terms of the contract. (c) The prices stated in the contract may not be increased except by express written agreement of UNICEF. (d) Payment of professional fees will be based on the submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in the event that the submitted deliverables do not meet the required standards or in the event of delays in the submission of deliverables by the consultant.
Individuals hired under a consulting or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the United Nations Staff Regulations and Rules and UNICEF policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to the benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their terms of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contract for Consultant Services. Consultants are responsible for determining their tax obligations and paying any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
