17 nations are receiving technical assistance and monitoring from the Regional Monitoring team as they implement their National Strategy Plans (CSP). Egypt, Algeria, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, the State of Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, and Yemen are among the 17 countries listed above.
The team provides direction and makes sure that the CSP Monitoring, Review, and Evaluation plans are comply with WFP corporate monitoring and evaluation criteria and will give the most pertinent and strategic information for attaining intended results. Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is crucial to effective programming because it enables risk mitigation and allows program adjustments based on information received from M&E systems. Yet, there is still a lack of standardization and consistency in the organization’s data gathering, reporting, and visualization tools.
For the purpose of fostering accountability, controls, and efficiencies across its programs, the World Food Programme (WFP) seeks to increase its capacity to centrally receive, store, process, and analyze digital operational data. Additionally, WFP uses data to better inform the design of its programs and performance measurement through the analysis of data gathered from its regional operations.
The Data Management Specialist will concentrate on managing and visualizing regional monitoring data specifically for this position by creating and standardizing consolidated databases and insightful and creative dashboards to best utilize M&E data both within Country Offices and throughout the region. The job also involves training M&E staff members in knowledge management and data visualization.
UN Careers-Data Management and Visualization Officer Requirements
Education:
- Advanced University degree in one of the following areas: management information systems, computer science, engineering, development economics, performance management, monitoring and evaluation, or another related field; or First University degree plus additional years of relevant work experience and/or training.
Experience:
- A minimum of three years experience in data administration, analysis, and/or visualization, with a solid background in handling big data and presenting data in a business-oriented manner. It would be ideal to have prior experience working with a multicultural company.
Languages:
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
