About UN Careers-Programme Policy Officer/Congo/2023
The job reports to the Head of the Program and is situated in Kinshasa, DRC. The incumbent will ensure that Activity 1 of the CSP on Emergency assistance is properly managed in accordance with the needs and resources available by working closely with other program partners and Sub-Offices. The Emergency Coordinator will, more particularly, organize and direct the emergency response at the DRC Country Office while assisting colleagues in Operations and Programme with an emphasis on in-kind modalities. In order to deliver WFP’s emergency response in the field, he will direct emergency operations, assist with implementation, and work around obstacles, including ensuring overall coherence with other Activities carried out in the Country Office.
Required Qualifications of UN Careers-Programme Policy Officer/Congo/2023
Education:
Advanced university degree in a field related to international development assistance, such as international affairs, economics, nutrition/health, agriculture, environmental science, social sciences, or a related field, or first university degree plus additional years of relevant work experience and/or training/courses.
Experience:
Eight (8) years of relevant, progressively responsible experience working in the humanitarian aid sector in diverse field locations, including appropriate first-hand knowledge of operations management tasks at country/field offices
Languages:
International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English and French language.
