About UN Jobs-Administration Consultant

The WFP Caribbean, which includes 22 countries and territories, established this post to undertake a multi-country technical assistance and capacity-building program in the Caribbean area, supporting emergency preparedness and response (EPR) functions. Through research, knowledge sharing, and lobbying, WFP worked to increase the use of social protection systems during times of crisis. It also promoted these systems, facilitated intra-regional South-South collaboration, and built human resource capacity in this area. These positions are available at Headquarters, Regional Bureaux, and Country Offices (COs) (HQ). Field employees normally answer to the country’s deputy director or a designate.

Employees at RBs or HQ normally report to the designee or Deputy Regional/Division Director. Position holders exercise a high degree of independence and supervise less senior employees to make sure that administrative goals are fully met. They devote a lot of time to both routine tasks and analytical work.

to participate in the daily planning and provision of high-quality, client-focused, cost-effective administrative services that allow personnel in country/location operations to provide food assistance to recipients in accordance with WFP’s strategy.
Support the creation of standard operating procedures, the execution of business policies, the evaluation of internal controls, the development of staff capability, and the transition of local employees. The job holder is expected to continually show a high level of responsibility and initiative to reply independently to inquiries because the instructions received are broad.

UN Jobs-Administration Consultant Requirments

Education:

  • degree from a university in engineering, business/public administration, or a related field to office management and administration

Languages:

  • English language proficiency at the level of a global professional (C). intermediate proficiency (level B) in one of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or Portuguese, the working language of the World Food Programme.
