UN Jobs-Associate Programme Coordination Officer Responsibilities
- As the focal point for education programs in the West Bank, maintain coherence and coordination among various education project initiatives, including proper collaboration with UNRWA’s Protection and Neutrality Department.
- Coordinate and communicate with the UNRWA West Bank Education Program. Coordinates efforts between and among program managers, the program support office, the Projects Office, the Monitoring and Evaluation Office, the Public Information Office, and other Support Departments. This includes generating templates and other documentation to support project management, promote information sharing, arrange regular meetings, and create strategic platforms for coordination, knowledge management, and best practices sharing.
- Supports staff capacity building in program planning and monitoring through project cycle management methods, and also assists the West Bank Field in strengthening programs, services, and activities through project cycle management practices.
- Support the development of donor reports and project proposals, as well as the coordination of the protection project and crisis intervention unit (CIU), including coordinating tools collaboration with the West Bank Protection Consortium.
UN Jobs-Associate Programme Coordination Officer Requirements
Education:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Sciences, International Development, or Humanitarian Studies, or any other comparable field.
Experience:
- A minimum of two years of paid experience in a program function connected to humanitarian and/or development programs is required (experience in a developing country is highly desirable).
- It is necessary to have prior experience with humanitarian/development project management elements such as needs analysis, proposal formulation, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and/or donor reporting.
- Analytical abilities and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking atmosphere are required.
Languages:
- Fluency in either Finnish or Swedish
- Excellent writing skills in English
- Working knowledge of Arabic is desirable
- Excellent communication skills.
