About UN jobs-Chief Technical Specialist
The CTS will be in charge of offering high-level strategic and technical guidance to the Armenian Mine Action national agencies and organizations under the overall direction of the UNDP Deputy Resident Representative (DRR) and in close coordination with the Democratic Governance Programme Analyst.
The CTS will also be in charge of providing the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise (CHDE), which is the National Mine Action Authority, with high-level, ongoing policy, advocacy, strategic, and technical advice regarding UNDP’s support for mine action. In particular, the CTS will be responsible for providing guidance on the creation and upkeep of a credible mine action concept of operations and mine action plan, prepared with assistance from the CHDE and in collaboration with the UN.
Required Qualifications Of UN jobs-Chief Technical Specialist
Education:
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Road/Construction Engineering, Management, Business Administration, Economics, Foreign Relations, or/and Security, Disaster or/and Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, or other relevant fields. Extensive proven experience can replace formal education.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in implementing mine action operations in different organizational contexts, including experience in the development of national mine action institutions.
- Has experience in understanding the principle of national ownership and integrity in development cooperation;
Languages:
High standard of spoken and written English
