About UN Jobs in Cameroon-Public Information Officer

Le (la) Chargé (e) de l’information publique / PIO is tasked with helping to develop and implement public information strategy and advocating on behalf of OCHA Cameroun’s office to a variety of audiences. This is done under the direction of the section information officer’s chief.

In order to ensure the implementation of the communication and advocacy strategies of the OCHA Cameroun office, he or she collaborates closely with OCHA sub-offices across the nation, with humanitarian partners (UN agencies, non-governmental organizations on a national and international level, foundations), and with the media.

Important Tasks and Accountabilities
Include up to five major tasks for the position in this part (often one sentence each), along with an example of the work that must be done to effectively complete each one.

Education:

  • possessing at least a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, communication, journalism, public administration, international development, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Justify having at least two years of experience in the relevant fields (media, communication, journalism, social sciences);
  • having a good experience using the computer tool (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,)
  • It would be ideal to have some experience with CANVA and Adobe’s graphics software (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.);

Languages:

  • Good professional command of English—spoken, written, and read.
