About UN Jobs in Ethiopia-Business Support Assistant

OB TITLE: Business Support Assistant (Data Entry – Fleet) TYPE OF CONTRACT/GRADE: Service Contract Level 4 NUMBER OF POSITIONS : 3 DUTY STATION – Semera, Dire Dawa & Gode DURATION: One year with a possibility of extension These positions are available at the WFP Ethiopia office in Gode, Dire Dawa, and Semera. Job holders communicate and work together with all other Fleet Unit personnel as well as with other departments within the company, with a focus on the Supply Chain unit. The WFP Fleet in Ethiopia has expanded due to the increase in activities, and fleet operations have been decentralized to ensure coverage of the entire nation whenever and wherever transportation issues arise. The administration of the fleet, particularly the coordination of fleet usage, maintenance, spare parts inventory management, fuel, and many other factors, was presented with a new difficulty as a result of the decentralization of fleet operations. The incumbent will assist in the overall management of all fleet operations, workshop activities, and oversight of all area office and sub-office fleet/workshop assets under the direction of the fleet manager. They will also coordinate fleet operations in accordance with WFP procedures, normative guidelines, and business rules.

Education:

  • secondary school graduation, a technical college credential, or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as logistics, computer science, or statistics.

Experience:

  • completion of secondary school and at least four years of work experience, or a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience working as a data clerk or in a job similarly related to the logistics operation.

Languages:

  • Fluency in oral and written communication in English and Amharic.
