About UN Jobs in Syria-Programmes Coordinator

The objective of the contract is to create strategic papers and reports for UNICEF under the general direction and direct supervision of the Deputy Representative – Programmes or to whoever she/he delegated:

  • Create and test a results framework that expands on and is compatible with the current programmatic outcomes framework as part of the UNICEF Integrated Resilience Plan. The strategy should also take use of already-established initiatives, successful methods, areas of collaboration and complementarity with UN sister organizations (including the ongoing UN Joint Programmes), as well as any other potential strategic alliances (i.e. with INGOs).
  • Review the services that are currently provided in the field with UNICEF’s support as well as any clusters or sectors that may exist (such as the referral system), and make suggestions on how to create referral channels for UNICEF programs as well as with other UN agencies, beginning with UN Joint Programmes.
  • To ensure results and position UNICEF Syria in the UN Joint Programmes and joint programming, provide technical assistance and produce technical, strategic, and analytical documents like (1) UNICEF Syria consolidated plans for UN Joint Programmes, (2) communication, briefing, and advocacy papers; (3) analytical narrative reports, adequately reflecting evidence-based impact through depicting
  • As part of this, participate in UN meetings, interact with pertinent UNICEF personnel, and advise and support the Deputy Representative – Programmes. Offer technical assistance to UNICEF Syria staff in the areas of integrated, resilient, and collaborative programs.

UN Jobs in Syria-Programmes Coordinator Requirments

Education:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Science, Public Relations, International Affairs or any other related field

Experience:

  • Work experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a similar subject, such as project management, program coordination, or authoring analytical reports, concept summaries, briefing summaries, or updates in the field of foreign aid and development. Experience working on cooperative projects with other UN organizations is preferred.

Languages:

  • Language: Fluency in the English language is required. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
