About UN Jobs in UAE-Storekeeper

To guarantee prompt and continuous delivery of essential medical supplies in the case of health emergencies, including sudden occurrences like natural catastrophes, infectious disease outbreaks, and global escalation of armed conflict.

DUTIES:

  1. Receive, by offloading cargo from trucks and containers, and confirm the freight forwarder and supplier documentation is matching the physical receipt of goods by verifying the total number of pieces against the Air Waybill or Bill of Lading and the supplier documentation.
  2. Support the detailed inspection of health supplies by assisting with the review of the items, quantities, batches, expiry, unit of measure, and size and segregate items by Purchase Order Number, Batch Number, and Size when needed.
  3. Notify supervisors of goods delivered in a damaged condition or wrong quantities for initiating insurance claims or return of items.
  4. Operate material handling equipment (MHE) including forklifts and reach trucks to manage the off-loading, put-away, picking, and loading of supplies while ensuring the routine maintenance and safe operation of the MHE.
  5. Make necessary arrangements for proper storage (including barcoding) and labeling of newly arrived products including the marking of items by the stock owner, PO Number, and pallet ID according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  6. Prepare health supplies for immediate dispatch via shipments by re-packaging, labeling, measuring, and weighing consignments and preparing a draft Packing List.
  7. Attend to the loading of cargo and cross-check the number of pallets, the items, and quantities are matching the Invoice and Packing List for a specific order with particular attention to the temperature requirements of the products and the final destination.
  8. Renew the emergency health kits by removing items with limited shelf-life, revising the labels, replacing items, and resealing cartons, and segregating items removed for placement into quarantine, under the guidance and information received from the direct supervisor.

Education:

  • secondary education is finished together with additional training in logistics.
  • It’s ideal to have a post-secondary certificate.

Experience:

  • two years of ever more experienced warehousing and logistics
  • Relevant experience in the UN system.

Languages:

Intermediate knowledge of English. Intermediate knowledge of Arabic.
