The Department of Global Communications’ Campaigns and Country Operations Division, Social Media Unit, is where this post is based. According to the Department’s general communications direction, priorities, and message as well as administrative regulations on the institutional use of social media, the Social Media Section is in charge of developing, executing, and monitoring the multilingual social media strategy. A Public Information Officer in the Section will receive reports from the incumbent. This post is presently open until May 14, 2023, with the potential for an extension.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Seven years of progressive experience in programme or project administration, public information or related area is required.

Languages:

  • The working languages of the United Nations Secretariat are English and French. Fluency in both oral and written English and French is necessary for the advertised position. It would be ideal to know another official UN language.
