About UN Jobs in USA-Women’s Empowerment Specialist

The Women’s Empowerment Specialist works to put into practice the Women’s Empowerment Program, which aims to empower women to achieve short- and long-term goals through individualized training and counseling, linking women to existing services, and reducing barriers.

One’s responsibilities may, but need not be, restricted to:

  • dispense intake services and sign up individuals for life skills instruction
  • Create and instruct a customized program for life skills training that includes digital literacy
  • Consider the opinions of refugee women while making decisions about vocational training.
  • Recruit and sign up women refugees for the WEP program.
  • Together with the enrolled women, evaluate the needs of the women, establish short- and long-term objectives, and develop a service plan.
  • Plan trainings and conduct weekly home meetings with women to deliver training
  • assist women in removing obstacles to attendance
  • Determine patterns that prevent women from taking full advantage of services, and offer existing programs quarterly feedback.
  • monthly civic events for women and their families are organized and carried out.
  • Assure proper data entry into the donor database, Client Track, and the internal ETO database of the IRC.
  • Make ensuring that case files and reports are kept up to date in line with grant criteria.

UN Jobs in USA-Women’s Empowerment Specialist Requirments

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Experience:

  • required prior relevant experience. Experience working with immigrant and/or refugee groups is requested; expertise teaching adults is highly desirable.
