The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading international environmental organization that establishes the global environmental agenda, encourages the consistent application of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the framework of the United Nations, and acts as a powerful spokesperson for the environment worldwide. The Regional Office for West Asia assists nations in improving their capacity and providing consulting services so they can accomplish their environmental and sustainable development goals. Within the framework of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between UNEP and the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this consultancy has been established in the West Asia Office. At the UNEP West Asia Office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Expert will answer to the Project Manager for the Saudi Environment Sustainability Programme.
Required Qualifications of UN Jobs-International Consultant/UAE/2023
Education:
A Master’s degree in wildlife, biodiversity, environmental science, natural sciences, or related fields is required. Ph.D. is an asset.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of professional technical experience in the field of captive breeding is required
Languages:
fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
