About UN jobs-Programme Officer
The main goal of UNICEF’s social protection agenda in Armenia is to provide analytical, advocacy, technical, and coordination resources to develop an integrated, inclusive, child-sensitive, and shock-responsive social protection system by engaging in evidence generation, developing policies and legal frameworks, and related programs, as well as strengthening the social service workforce, developing administrative systems, and advancing shock-responsive social protection.
A combined UN program on “Building a resilient social protection system in Armenia” will co-fundes by EU and UN agencies via various sources, with UNICEF serving as the agency in charge of coordination and oversight. In order to establish an adaptable, integrated, human-centered, and shock-responsive social protection system that increases a person’s resilience to vulnerability, deprivation, and crises across the lifecycle, UNICEF will coordinate the EU Contribution Agreement and enter into agreements with UNDP and WFP. In addition to actively participating in program implementation on behalf of UNICEF, the Programme Officer will be accountable for coordinating the work of various agencies, identifying synergies, and carrying out joint activities. The Programme Officer will also manage reporting activities with input and support from all agencies.
Required Qualifications UN jobs-Programme Officer
Education:
It is necessary to have a university degree in one of the following areas: social sciences, international relations, politics, public administration, social policy, community development, or another pertinent technical discipline.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of relevant professional work experience in Social Protection related programs is required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
- Background/familiarity with emergencies is considered an asset.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
- Experience coordinating a multi-partner initiative is an asset.
Languages:
Fluency in Armenian and English requires. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Russian, is an asset.
