Advantages:
The following things will help the interns:
- Allowance for Living Expenses, Transportation, and Food:
- 50% of the monthly net income (GS level 3 step 1) for “H” duty stations and 70% for other duty stations are paid to full-time interns.
- Half of the full-time allowance rate is given to internships that are part-time.Additionally, remote internships are paid.

- Unless their sponsor has already covered this, interns who are not in the country of their duty station are compensated for their return travel expenses using the most cost-effective method.
- Although UNHCR can help with the required paperwork, interns are responsible for arranging and paying for their own visas.
Required Medical Insurance:
- It is the intern’s responsibility to obtain and present proof of current health insurance that covers the duration of the contract, including emergency medical evacuation coverage if necessary.

Eligibility:
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student at a university or other higher education establishment that has obtained external accreditation through UNESCO Link, or be a recent graduate.
- possess completed a minimum of two years of college coursework in a field relevant to or fascinating to the organization’s activities and
- Applicants must not have any direct family members (father, mother, brother, or sister) working with UNHCR as affiliates or staff members under any sort of contract at the time of application.
