Job description

Overview of position Under direct management and technical supervision of Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) Unit UNICEF CR Kabul. The SBC Extender will be assigned to provide direct support on data collection/evidence generation, planning, coordination, programme communication, project implementation, monitoring, reviews and reporting of SBC/AAP programme activities. 

 

 

 

 

Role objectives
  • ·        Assist the SBC Officers on programme evidence generation, planning, communication, provincial coordination of SBC/AAP activities, project implementation, monitoring and reporting.

     

     

  • ·        Ensure proper planning, implementation, monitoring, facilitation and follow-up with programme partners and social mobilizers on SBC/AAP field level activities.

     

     

  • ·        Conduct capacity building trainings and orientation sessions to SBC/AAP staff including social mobilizers and community structures at districts/provinces level.

     

     

  • ·        Ensure local coordination and collaboration with key stakeholders and actors at provincial and districts level. Support SBC interventions with relevant LTA holders.

     

     

  • ·        Participate in provincial/district coordination meetings related to SBC/AAP, Health, Nutrition, Education, WASH, Child Protection and Emergency programme activities. Ensure UNICEF visibility and branding in all interventions.

     

     

  • ·        Support field level emergency preparedness and response activities, perform monitoring visits to project sites using standardized monitoring form/checklist. Provide monitoring support to UNICEF programme related media campaigns.

     

     

  • ·        Provide technical support on data collection, data analysis and reporting related to SBC/AAP activities at district/province level. As per the established format prepare and submit SBC/AAP programme progress report on monthly basis.

     

     

  • ·        Engage community structures/key influencers and communities in collecting/responding to community feedbacks. Provide information about availability and utilization of UNICEF supported programme services to people/communities.

     

     

  • ·        Identify best success stories of SBC interventions, provide support to the distribution of relevant supplies IEC and BCC materials and supplies.

     

     

  • ·        Liaise with (INGOs/NGOs) programme partners and local authorities on UNICEF SBC programme interventions.

     

     

  • ·        Conduct frequent programme field visits to project sites to ensure smooth implementation of the SBC/AAP activities based on annual workplan.

University degree in one of the following fields is required:

Experience:


Advanced university degree with at least 2 years of professional work experience or first university degree with at least 5 years of professional work experience.

Language:

 

 

Ability to read, write and speak local languages and English well

 

 


Skills:

 

 


Excellent knowledge of Computer Literacy/Microsoft Office 365/Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other software programs)

 

 


Ability to speak publicly, knowledge and skills of documenting activities (writing short articles/success stories, project activity reports and taking pictures).

 

 

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a result-oriented manner under demanding working conditions, often with short deadlines.

Language: 

Ability to read, write and fluently speak in English, Pashto and Dari languages.
