Overview of position | Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners.
With 172 member states, a further 8 states holding observer status and offices in over 100 countries, IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. IOM works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to populations in need, including migrants, refugees, and internally displaced people.
Under the overall supervision of the Project Officer (GIS & Spatial Planning) and the Project Officer (Data Analysis & Research) in IOM Afghanistan, and in close coordination with Head of Sub Office, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for field work of Spatial Planning Assessment including data collection (Key Informant interviews), mapping and data verification to support the team in implementing detailed Provincial Profiles and support community targeting planned as part of the Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan (STFA). |
Role objectives | Context:
Under the overall supervision of the DTM Operations Officer and direct supervision of the DTM Team Leader and in coordination with the Senior DTM Coordinator, the DTM Enumerator will be responsible for the following activities, according to the procedures and training provided by the DTM management team.
