Overview of position
Movcon along with the Field Technology Section (FTS) is implementing an e-ticketing project across the entire mission, moving from a manual passenger booking system to a fully automated passenger ticketing & passenger / cargo database management system. The project is part of the applications provided by the FSS platform enabling improved access to data related to passenger movement, better planning of the air assets & projected assets utilization based on accurate data. This will allow better cost projections & fund management using SAP (UMOJA) tools. It includes training of staff & roll out of the project at our clients HQ, Juba & all 11 locations in country in a time bound manner.
This position is located in the Movement Control Section (MOVCON) in Juba. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Passenger Operations Unit located in Juba.
Role objectives
Within the delegated authority, the ICT Project Support role will be responsible for performing the following duties:
During the implementation stage:
Facilitate & actively engage with the FTS towards identifying architecture, operational resilience & if applicable, the classification & categorization of data managed or stored in the project product.
Review the product functions & features to ensure it is both accurate & complete & fit for purpose for its defined target audiences, both business & technical.
Ensure the ongoing validity of the business case during & after the project.
Should any developments arise which may impact the business case (as defined in the project documentation) it is this role’s responsibility to inform FTS.
Draft the project mandate with the assistance of FTS, if required.
Designate all MOVCON resources & their alternates who will interface with FTS & play an active role throughout the project lifecycle & ensure their active participation.
Should be able to provide FTS with necessary input for drafting the list of product functions & related features.
Abide by agreed upon timeframes to review & approve all project documents as required.
Ensure that the designated testers conduct the product acceptance testing within an agreed upon timeframe & that any necessary changes in functions or features follow the project change process in order to prevent delays.
Agree to the frequency & method of communication between MOVCON & FTS, as detailed in the project initiation document.
Understand & adhere to the process for modifying the product functions or features, both during the project lifecycle & after its completion.
On implementation:
To train MOVCON staff across the mission on the e-ticketing project & roll out the project to all MOVCON offices.
Implement data analytics with the aim of improving the utilization of air assets of the mission, utilizing the tools available in FSS & SAP (UMOJA).
Project reporting
This role reports to the Chief Passenger Operations Unit in the MOVCON Section.
Key competencies
Sound background in handling passenger movement & managing SAP databases relating to movement control budget planning & expenditure.
Recording statistical data & generating reports.
Maintaining electronic databases in accordance with the established procedures & deadlines.
Skill in using Microsoft Office tools to collect & analyze data.
Skill in utilizing the FSS tool or SAP (UMOJA).
Experience in auditing databases for anomalies & ability to address the deficiencies with stakeholders for rectification.
Experience in working in a difficult post conflict environment.
Team management
This role has no team management responsibility.
