Job Summary & Goals: Job Description

EPI-related actions must be accurately and promptly recorded and reported to all parties in accordance with EPHS regulations.

EPI actions should be planned and coordinated to meet the goals.
Responsibilities:

- Correctly fill cold boxes and vaccines carriers with ice packs: make sure that ice packs are frozen; clean and dry frost on ice pack surfaces; include indicator inside of cold box or vaccine carriers; always keep vaccines within cold box or vaccine carriers with ice packs.

- Keep all vaccines at the correct cold temperature to avoid heat, sunlight or freezing.
- While making vaccinations always keep vaccine on ice packs.
- Use only disposal needles and syringes.
- Correctly use diluents for vaccines.
- Give children correct vaccinations following the agreed schedule.
- Give vaccines the correct number of times and at the correct age: vaccinate at the right age; vaccinate with the right number of doses; vaccinate at the right time between doses.
- Fix the date of the next vaccination and inform parents of the children.
- Follow waste disposal procedures: collect and put all sharp objects in special safety box and dispose using an incinerator according to waste disposal rules.
- Prepare weekly statistical reports using standard forms (e.g. MOPH registration forms and vaccination cards).
- Provide correct registration and timely report to supervisor when problems arise concerning his part of the work in the office.
- Provide health education to parents about the importance of vaccination, including all side effects, and advise parents what is necessary to do in case if a child or women has side effects to provide counselling on drug related issue.
- Responsible of immunization for the women and children.
- Responsible to provide performance reports to line manager (Medical Doctor).
- Responsible to assist line manager in the preparation of vaccination data base and data collection tools.
- Accomplish other tasks defined by and agreed with the Medical Doctor.
Job Requirements:
Education:
12th Grade graduate, but Nurse is preferred.
Experience:
At least two years of relevant experience.
Language Professions:
Proficiency in Dari or Pashto is required.
