Background: –

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their lives. The IRC works with people forced to flee from war, conflict and disaster and the host communities which support them, as well as those who remain within their homes and communities. We began work in Ethiopia since 2000 and currently implementing emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, economic recovery, and development (ERD), women’s protection and empowerment, education, child protection, and multi-sectoral emergency response.

The IRC has a focus on narrowing the gender gap in humanitarian aid and ensuring that we contribute to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in both our programs and operations by working to establish a context where our clients (including those from minority groups) enjoy the same rights and opportunities as well as an equal access to services. Job Overview:

The Job holder is responsible for the receiving and issuing of documents. IRC defines supply Chain as those systems and support functions necessary to implement programs effectively, inclusive of proper keeping of all store documentation and store offices. She/he is also responsible for ensuring stock accuracy, proper issuing and receiving and housekeeping of the Warehouse.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Proper Receipt and Inventories.

·The storekeeper is responsible for all warehouse day-to-day activities including receiving and dispatching.

·Reporting to the Supply Chain Officer/Manager, the Supply Chain Assistant-Warehouse is responsible for the efficient coordination and management of warehouse functions for the IRC Kebribeyah refugee camp under JiJiga FO.

·The Warehouse must be able to properly keep program supplies, assets and equipment whilst ensuring best practices and maintaining proper recording and documentation.

·Ensuring materials are accurately inspected and received in reconciliation with the specifications originally stated on the PR/purchase request are in line with Purchase Orders and Delivery Notes.

·Assist to receive and dispatch items with proper records in accordance with IRC Warehouse operations policy and procedure, Materials are carefully counted during loaded and unloaded time.

·Assist the office during periodical inventories.

·Coordinate all loading and unloading activities being undertaken on timely basis,

·Monitor shortfall or excess inventory balance at the end of each stack and provides report to the Warehouse Officer.

·Delivery note is done and submitted to procurement staff with in one day after the material inspection completed and all the vital document and the required quantity is fulfilled. Inform the respective staff up on arrival of their respective goods.

·Check the authenticity of the suppliers’ documents coming out of the warehouse and sign them with the appropriate authority.

·Prepares Store Issue Voucher/Goods Receiving Vouchers only on orders from the warehouse. The supply chain officer/Camp manager will immediately sign the customer on the Voucher.

·Schedule workload based on established warehouse management priorities. Ensures all the goods movements are done with properly authorized documents with zero tolerance of delay.

·Proper documentation and record keeping as per the document control procedure.

·Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouses and provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company’s SHE policy.

·Utilizes the Warehouse Management System to prioritize and manage loading and unloading workload.

2. Reporting

·Assist in preparation of regular reporting needs of the Warehouse including weekly and monthly reports.

3. Additional Duty

·Assist in keeping the Store clean and tidy.

·Ensuring the warehouse compound doors, windows, fences are safe and secure to the warehouse management system, insure and give any update to supply chain manager. Perform any other supply officer.

Safeguarding Responsibilities: –

·Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion and cohesion in IRC [team/office]

·Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Diploma/degree in Procurement/Logistic and supply management or Business administration, Economics, Accounting, and related fields. 1 years’ experience Diploma & 0-year experience for Degree
Preferred Experience and Skills

·Very good knowledge and experience in Microsoft Word and Excel software application

·NGO Experience is a plus, Able to work optimally in a highly matrixed structure.

·Analytical ability in creating effective solutions to complex matters while adhering to labor laws and internal policies.

Language Skills:

·Proficiency of Somali and English language is an asset.
