Job Description:

Warehouse officer is a vital part of the supply chain process.He supervises the receipt, storage and dispatch of a wide range of commodities as well as materials according to demand. To achieve this, he manages people, processes and systems. He ensures required targets are met and computerized daily/weekly/monthly reports are generated and circulated among the relevant people.

SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Warehouse Coordinator
Role Dimensions: Finance, Supply Chain, Programme Operations, Head of office.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Maintaining a clean and well-organised warehouse:
• Ensure that the warehouse is clean, secure (with security features) and well-organised.
• Store on the basis of FIFO and FEFO (first expiry first out).
• If necessary, lead on the coordination with Admin to ensure pest control.
• Ensure that the warehouse is locked and has resources in place to prevent theft, flooding and/or fire.
• Ensure that storage space is utilised to the best way possible.
• (If applicable) Ensure that pharmaceuticals are stored at the current height and temperatures according to mandatory standard operating procedures.
Receiving and dispatching goods:
• Ensure that procedures are strictly followed and that all necessary forms are used, filled and filed correctly during receipt, storage and dispatch of the supplies.
• Update bin card and stock cards when goods are received or dispatched.
• Ensure the GRN and SRF are recorded correctly in the TIM system when goods are released.
• Bear responsibility for the unloading of inbound and outbound freight.
• Bear responsibility for the supervision of loading of shipments of ITN and other supplies
• Conduct stock checks and stock reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Process and complete shipment documentation.
Reporting:
• Verify and submit accurate and high-quality stock reports.
• Ensure that the TIM system is up to date with correct information through daily inputs.

Job Requirements:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential:
• 3+ years of warehousing or supply chain experience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work as a team player
• Fluent in local languages.
• Good self-starter with effective time management skills.
• Willingness to change working days and hours where there is need.
• Experience of logistics, procurement and supply chain management.
• Strong skills in coordinating and collaborating with others in partnership.
• Positive, solution-driven, respectful and with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
• IT skills (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Ability and willingness to travel within Afghanistan.
Desirable:
• Fluency in English.
• Experience working in humanitarian emergencies across multiple areas of Afghanistan
• Previous experience in NNGOs/lNGOs,UN etc.
