The organization provides assistance in different areas such as primary health care, reproductive health care, environmental health, child survival, blindness treatment and prevention, and assistance for victims of sexual violence. JOB DESCRIPTION
The Refugee Youth Program supply newly arrived refugee and immigrant youth, their families, and their schools with the school adjustment process. Refugee Youth Program Interns will set assistance with a variety of support services, such as school enrollment, parent workshops, summer school referrals, summer programming, and improving academic resources for refugee pupils. Youth Program Interns will also set other direct services to youth and their families as required.
· Help with school enrollment, application for school reduced-free meal program, pupil placement testing, immunization demands, and registration for after school programs, mentoring, and summer programs (IRC-run or otherwise).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently holding a Bachelor or Master Degree in social work, public health, or relevant major.
- Experience working with children and youth, specifically in the context of educational and social programs.
- Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations highly admirable .
- proficiency in a second language preferred (i.e. Dari, Pashto, Farsi, Arabic, Spanish, and Kiswahili)
