British Council | UK | Fantastic Scholarships 2026
International students can apply for fully financed scholarships under Great Scholarships 2026–2027. For master’s degrees, these scholarships are offered. Up to £10,000 in tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course are covered by the grant.
Together with participating UK higher education institutions, the British Council and the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign provide funding for the GREAT scholarship.
GREAT Scholarships provides overseas students with several scholarships from UK universities in a range of topics. The minimum value of each scholarship is £10,000, which can be used to cover tuition for a postgraduate study lasting one year.

- Each scholarship is worth a minimum of £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course.
Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship requires the following qualification:

- Eligible Countries: Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Spain, France, Greece, Italy
- Required Language: English
- As an alumnus of the GREAT Scholarships, be willing occasionally to speak to potential candidates about his or her own experience of studying in the UK
- Have an undergraduate degree, be motivated, and have an interest in the proposed subject area
- Meet the English language requirement of the UK HEI
- Establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment
- Be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and their HEI and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships
- Be willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK
