Budapest, Hungary’s HIIA Future Leaders Program 2025

Applications are being accepted for the 2025 HIIA Future Leaders Program. Young professionals and students have a rare opportunity to study international relations and leadership while residing in Budapest, Hungary, through the HIIA leadership program 2025. The Hungarian Institute of International Affairs is providing this fascinating opportunity (HIIA). Participants will come from all around the world for the program, which will span from September 15 to December 15, 2025.

There is no application fee, and you can apply without having to take the TOEFL, IELTS, or any other language test. Young professionals under 30 and graduate students are eligible to enroll in the fully supported leadership program. You will tour prestigious institutions, participate in workshops conducted by experts, and discover Hungary’s rich cultural heritage throughout the course of the four weeks. In Budapest, one of the most stunning and ancient towns in Europe, you will also get the opportunity to network with other young activists from around the globe.
The program pays for your overseas flights and gives you a monthly stipend to help with living expenses while you are in Hungary. This makes it a worthwhile experience, particularly for young people who have a strong interest in international leadership, foreign policy, and diplomacy.

Eligibility Criteria of Hungary’s HIIA Future Leaders Program:

This Program requires the following qualification:

  • possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher and be a recent graduate in one of the following (or similarly related) fields:
  1. Relations with Other Countries
  2. The study of politics
  3. The study of philosophy
  4. The past
  5. Global Economics
  • be younger than thirty while submitting an application.
  • possess a keen interest in international relations and foreign policy.
  • Be able to dedicate roughly thirty hours a week to working in person at HIIA’s Budapest headquarters.
  • Fluency in English is necessary, but no language certification such as the IELTS or TOEFL is required.
  • From September 15 to December 15, 2025, you must be available.

Benefits of Hungary’s HIIA Future Leaders Program:

This Program provides the following benefits:

  • International round-trip transportation to Budapest (for international fellows, sponsored by HIIA)
  • A stipend of 200,000 HUF (about €480) per month is provided to international fellows to help with housing.
  • Professional guidance with HIIA researchers
  • involvement in project management and research teams
  • Availability of training sessions and seminars on:
  • International relations
  • Development of Leadership
  • Speaking in public
  • Media proficiency
  • Possibilities to network with Hungarian foreign policy experts and participate in public debates
  • A three-month fixed-term contract where payments are contingent on completing important duties including attending seminars and conducting research
  • An excellent addition to your resume and potential career in politics, diplomacy, or foreign affairs.

  1. CV (no more than two pages)
  2. Cover letter (no more than one page)
  3. 3,000–5,000 characters, including spaces, is the writing sample.
  • Complete and submit your application by the due date.
  • Staff from HIIA will invite shortlisted candidates for an interview.
