The Australian Government provides funding for the RTP scholarships, whilst Deakin University funds the DUPR scholarships. Students from both domestic and foreign countries are eligible for these rewards. Only the highest ranking candidates will receive an RTP offer.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Students must be enrolled in an HDR course of study at Deakin University, whether they are domestic or international, to be eligible for an RTP Stipend, RTP Fees Offset, RTP Allowance, or DUPRS.
- Applicants must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth intended to cover HDR fees to be eligible for an RTP Fee cover.
- Candidates must not be receiving any additional funding from other sources to cover their living expenses throughout their course of study, provided that additional funding does not exceed 75% of their RTP or DUPRS Stipend rate.
- Income unrelated to the student’s course of study or income received for the student’s course of study but not for the purposes of supporting general living costs is not to be taken into account.

An annual stipend of $34,400
Students who are traveling from out-of-state or abroad to study at Deakin University are eligible for a relocation stipend ranging from $500 to $1,500 (for single to family). This relocation allowance is covered by the Single Overseas Student Health Cover policy for the term of the student visa.
