Conditions of Fellowships for CYD Doctoral Studies 2025:
- Applications for the CYD Master Thesis Fellowships are open to citizens of any nationality.
- There are no age limitations.
- When submitting their Stage 2 application, candidates must be enrolled in a PhD program at a Swiss higher education institution and have the support of a professor who works there and is ready to supervise them (for more information on the application process, see below).
- At Stage 2, applicants must submit formal confirmation that they are concurrently enrolled in a PhD program at a Swiss university, even though they are free to ask a professor working at a school of applied sciences for their endorsement.
- Only after completing the first two years of their doctorate program and if the requested funding duration aligns with the completion of their PhD thesis can applicants request support for less than four years.
How to Apply for Fellowships for CYD Doctoral Studies 2025:
- Candidates must submit an online application during Stage 1.
- For consideration for the Fellowship, candidates need to submit a pre-proposal.
- Those who are chosen in Stage 01 are paired with a mentor on the CYD campus.
- The shortlisted candidates need to have their mentor’s approval in order to proceed to Stage 02.
- Before the deadline of September 19, 2025, candidates who advanced to Stage 02 must submit a complete research proposal.
