Germany’s HZB International Summer Program 2026

Applications for the 2026 HZB International Summer Program are now being accepted. The eight-week summer program in Berlin, which runs from July 6 to August 28, 2026, is fully funded. The HZB Campuses in Berlin will host the HZB summer program. Fellows will have the chance to collaborate closely with HZB scientists in the field while working on their own research project. The HZB International Summer Student Program (ISSP) has the advantage of accepting applications from all around the world and having no application cost or IELTS requirements. Twenty undergraduate and graduate students collaborate and conduct research on the projects with the HZB scientists during the Summer Program in Germany each year.

Eligibility Criteria of HZB International Summer Program:

This scholarship requires the following qualification:

  • All students from all nations are welcome. Both EU and non-EU students are eligible to apply.
  • You must be a current undergraduate student in one of the following fields: engineering, life sciences, environmental sciences, physics, chemistry, material science, structural biology, mathematics, or a similar field.
  • You ought to have finished two years or more of full-time university coursework.
  • For the course of the program, you must be available to engage fully.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • A recommendation letter from a professor or researcher who is familiar with your academic work is required.

Program conditions:

  • It is required to participate for the full period.
  • 40 hours per week is the working time.
  • an eight-week internship agreement to work on your project.

  • Academic degree certificates and transcripts, if any
  • A duplicate of your identity card or passport
  • Reference letter

This scholarship provides the following benefits:

Non-European Nations:

  1. Allowance total (meals, lodging, and other): €1900
  2. Transportation/Flight (Up to): €800

European Nations:

  1. Allowance total (meals, lodging, and other expenses): €1000
  2. Transportation/Flight (Up to): €200

Everyone’s living expenses are also covered.
