Scholarship Types:

There are two kinds of scholarships available from the Heinrich Boll Foundation Germany.

Scholarships for study (undergraduate, master’s) and promotion (doctoral).

Doctoral Studies:

In addition to a mobility allowance of €100 and other additional allowances, students from outside the EU are eligible to a monthly allowance of €1,200; tuition costs are not conceivable.
For students from the European Union: a monthly stipend of €1350 plus an additional €100 for research expenses. While modest costs are feasible elsewhere, there are no tuition fees in Germany.

The scholarship can be extended twice, for a maximum of six months, beyond its normal two-year term.

Documents Needed for the 2024–2025 Heinrich Scholarship:

Certificate of student enrollment.
Lecturer at a college or university letter of recommendation for a university entrance exam or its equivalent.
In order to apply to a Master’s program, international students must submit: a certified copy of their degree transcript.

Benifits of Heinrich Böll Foundation Scholarships 2024-25 in Germany:

Masters Studies:

For non-EU students, the monthly allowance is €934 per month plus various allowances. In some cases, tuition fees are possible in Germany.

EU students: The amount varies, but a maximum of €812 per month plus €300 for book money; tuition fees are not possible in Germany but are possible to a limited extent in other countries.

This scholarship covers the regular study period, which may be extended by one semester.
