The Johns Hopkins University Free Online Course on Introduction to the Biology of Cancer is currently accepting applications. The course covers oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes as well as the molecular biology of cancer and its physiological features. The course also covers the risk factors for the most common cancers encountered worldwide, including breast, colon, stomach, liver, and prostate cancers. They discuss imaging-based cancer diagnosis, cancer staging, and treatment options for the primary forms of the disease.

It is their intention that you will leave this course with a basic understanding of the biology and management of cancer. The course is not meant for those seeking treatment suggestions, but it can help you understand how cancer develops and provides a foundation for understanding cancer diagnosis and therapy.
