Indonesia KNB Scholarships for Developing Nations, 2025–2026:
The Indonesia Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarships for 2025–2026 are now accepting applications. Students from developing nations can use this scholarship to study for a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Indonesia.
The scholarship, which has been awarded to 1,608 beneficiaries from 97 countries since 2006, is administered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology and the Directorate General of Higher Education, Technology, and Research. The KNB Scholarship aids in the internationalization initiatives of Indonesian universities.

Eligibility:
- Documents and requirements for applicants for doctoral scholarships:
- Applicants cannot be older than 40.
- possess a master’s degree by submitting a scanned copy of your diploma and English-language transcripts of coursework.
- Those with doctorates are not eligible to apply.
- Provide a letter of recommendation from the prospective research supervisor at one of the KNB Scholarship’s partner universities.
- Send in a single statement outlining the candidates’ goals, the reasons they are interested in studying in Indonesia, the research topic they want to pursue, and their academic ambitions for the future of education.
- Show proof of completion of the TOEFL (71 iBT), IELTS (6.0), TOEIC 640, or any other English proficiency test within the previous two years.
- Letter of recommendation from the Consulate General or Embassy of Indonesia to apply for the KNB scholarship
- One letter of recommendation for the KNB Scholarship from a direct supervisor or employer
- One letter of recommendation from a prior university
- A current, official passport or other form of identification

- Foreign nationals who are from English-speaking nations or who are participating in English-language programs as indicated on their participation diploma or transcript are exempt from submitting the English Proficiency document, as long as they have valid documentation from their home institution
- To apply for the KNB scholarship, submit a letter of recommendation from the Indonesian Consulate General or Embassy.
- Please be aware that the KNB Scholarship Management will only accept a letter of recommendation from the Indonesian representative in the applicant’s home country (either the Consulate General or the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia).
- One letter of recommendation in English or Bahasa, if necessary, from a direct supervisor or employer for the KNB Scholarship
- One letter of academic recommendation in either Bahasa or English from prior schools
- Provide a scanned copy of the applicant’s high school diploma and transcripts in either English or Bahasa, as approved by the applicant’s nation’s ministries of education and foreign affairs.
Documents and requirements for applicants seeking master’s degree scholarships:
- Applicants cannot be older than 35.
- possess a bachelor’s degree by submitting a scanned copy of your diploma and English-language transcripts of coursework.
- Holders of master’s degrees are ineligible; demonstrate that you have earned TOEFL (61 iBT), IELTS (6.0), and TOEIC (575), certificates within the last two years.
- Letter of recommendation from the Consulate General or Embassy of Indonesia to apply for the KNB scholarship
- One letter of recommendation for the KNB Scholarship from a direct supervisor or employer
- One letter of recommendation from prior educational institutions
