The MEXT Scholarship 2025 at Osaka University in Japan is now accepting applications. The Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships are open to all international students. Applicants are encouraged to apply for this Osaka University scholarship if they wish to study in Japan on a fully supported scholarship. Scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies are offered by Osaka University in all subject areas and majors.

Eligibility

  • Strong academic credentials and outstanding research potential are required.
  • Proficiency in either English or Japanese is necessary, depending on the program.
  • Applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1989, for most programs.
  • Applicants must meet the Japanese government’s health requirements.

How to apply:

  • Check the eligibility requirements: Verify that you meet the requirements for eligibility.
  • Prepare the required documentation: Gather the necessary documents, including your academic transcripts, research proposal, recommendation letters, degree certificates, and proof of your proficiency in either Japanese or English.
  • Apply to the Japanese Embassy or Consulate: Send your completed application to the Japanese Embassy or Consulate in your home country within the designated application period, which is typically November to January.
  • Proceed with the preliminary screening: Take part in the preliminary screening, which includes a written exam, an interview, and a review of the documentary.
  • Wait for MEXT’s decision: If your application passes the first screening, MEXT will evaluate it in cooperation with Osaka University.
  • You will be notified of the scholarship award by February of the subsequent year.
