Who Can Apply for Pearson Scholarship?
Applicants should meet the following requirement to be eligible for the Pearson Scholarship:
- Be an international student from around the world or studying in Canada
- Be non-Canadian requiring a study permit
- Studying in your final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2023
- Beginning your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2024
- Meet English language proficiency tests:
- IELTS 6.5
- TOEFL iBT: Minimum Requirement: total score of 100 + 22 on Writing/ Discretionary Range: total score 89-99 + 22 on Writing
- Duolingo: 120
- Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): 70
- Cambridge English C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency: overall 180

Ineligibilities
The following category of applicants are not eligible to apply for the Pearson Scholarship:
- Students already attending post-secondary studies are not eligible
- Those who want to participate at another post-secondary institution to start their studies in January 2024 are not eligible to apply
How to Apply?
Interested applicants who want to apply for the B. Pearson Scholarship at the University of Toronto should follow these steps:
- Applicants should receive a nomination from their school (If your high school is not contacted/verified, they are asked to submit an application here in September)
- Applicants should submit their application for admission by proper deadlines to start their studies in Septemeber 2024.
- After receiving a nomination and applying to the university, you will get a personalized and secure link to the Lester B. Pearson International scholarship application; then, you can fill and complete the online Lester B. Pearson Scholarship application

- Pleaes note that applicants can apply for several study programs but the Univeristy only considers for the Pearson Scholarship for their first choice of program at U of T.
